The strength of Grandma

I've been messing around on the Ipad and helping my son with home work for a hour. Thinking ahhhhhh what can I write about it. Then it just came to me. The strength of Grandma. Not my grandma but my mother. The grandmother to my babies. My mom is quiet and calm. She says my grandma was brave and strong. Which of course she had to be. My mom has a few siblings who are out spoken and sure as hell don't know when to bite there tongues and be quiet. But my mom and 3 of her sisters are different. They are loving wonderful mothers how don't argue much with anyone. See recently my sister has been trying to get her x to sign a letter saying it's ok for her to take him to Costa Rica. Well guess what the asshole refused to. If it was up to me his ass would have been deported back to his guinea pig eating country Ecuador. But deportation will be in a whole different blog all together some day. My mom rarely ever says Stupid or any bad word at all. She's very claim and has maximum patience which is much needed when dealing with "El Barragan" (my dad). Yesterday she was upset when she tried to call my sisters x to ask him to sign the paper. She became so angry after she heard that he had said my sis doesn't let him see my nephew. My mom took out her anger by calling him and leaving a voice mail saying "your so stupid!" which probably sounded like "estupid" not stupid. Yesterday she was also upset with my sons reading teacher and once again today. She even called the school! I was shocked. But proud of her for deciding to say something since she has time to call the school. I did explain to her though that my sons issues with his reading teacher are not so serious and unfortunately the principal probably won't care. See my son was asked a question in class and he didn't know the correct answer so what he did was stay quiet. Which in turn pissed of the teacher even more so she yelled. I told him next time he doesn't know the answer he needs to say "I'm sorry I don't know the correct answer". Yes I'm getting suspicious about this teacher but I don't have enough to justify just yet going to a meeting with the principal or getting him moved from the class. It's the only class he ever complains about but I think much of it is due to his sensitive personalty. My mom may seem weak but she's stronger then any of us will ever know. She has been through a lot in her life but is still a grateful loving full hearted person. Don't mistake her kindness for weakness or she will beat the shit out of you with a umbrella. Just ask my sisters half sisters mom. Lol. My mom just rocks. She's never done anything to make me feel embarrassed to call her mom. I once dated somebody who had a mom who smoked pot..omg if my mom was a pot head I would so cry! LoL. If my mom ever got arrested I would cry also. Thank God my mom is awesome.

Meet Chester..or wait is it Carlos?

My husband is young but the man has probably as many health issues as Chester does. I don't know Chester personally but I snapped a picture of him while my husband was at the colon doctor a year ago. Seems Chester was gonna have his colon checked too. Poor guy. Anyways Chester was dressed way awesome. Socks, suspenders Omg totally stylin at his age. Hopefully the hubs has style at that age..haha. My Mr. Me vale verge might be at Chester status before he knows it LoL. Since he loves to watch his health habbits.

This is my hubs suffering from a gout attack forced to rock a Cane. This was over a year ago and I'm proud of him because he's been attack free for a few months. Might be thanks to his new meds.

When you realize it.

All moms know it's tiring to carry our kids especially once they are over 35 lbs. My gordo weighed over 7lbs when he was born.

I never had issues carrying him till he was about 5. I got home one day and he was asleep. I went to take him out of the car and crap I couldn't pick him up. Poor baby I had to wake him up and make him walk in the house.

In my mind he was still the size of the picture above. I was so upset I couldn't pick up my baby. WTF was wrong with me. My little man had grown too fast. I missed these days of when I would just pick him up and carry him all the time. I remember when he was small people would say don't carry him to much then that's all he's ever going to want. I never listened every time the kid would cry there I would go running to get him. My reason behind it was fuck it he's my only kid why should I let him cry that's just mean! I'm glad I didn't listen to them.

It hadn't dawned on me that one day I wouldn't be able to carry him from the car into the house. How sad. He was no longer baby size or atleast a size that I could carry anymore. I just carried my daughter up the stairs she weighs about 35 lbs and is 3. She's pretty tall for her age and growing fast. I don't even wanna think of the day I try to pick her up and can't! Ahhhh! She's still this lil baby to me.

Tiny lil baby Lala. I miss that and soon I'm gonna have to wake her up to bring her upstairs if she keeps growing so fast!

The picture above describes how I feel about him and his sister getting bigger!

Hungry?

Been a fat girl all my life pretty much. Some of it is laziness. Part of it is in my genes and half of it is my thyroid problem. I heart food. These are some of my favorite things...

Sushi sushi sushi I fucking love it.. From sashimi to crazy rolls yum yum yum I seriously could eat this every single day!

Cocktail de camaron. I could eat so much of this. It has my fav stuff. Shrimp, tomato, onions and avocado. What's not to like.

Heart attack from the shack. Some of the best chilli cheese ever goes on these.

Korean BBQ so freaking good. Everytime we go we like everything.

Ceviche, raw fish cooked in lemon. Throw this stuff on a tostada and I'll eat like 6 of them. Another thing I could eat all the time.

Street tacos. Best tacos ever. Makes me wanna go to Rosarito or T.J just to have some really really good ones.

Grilled salmon. I used to eat this a lot in high school. My dad makes it the best.

This Chile is stuffed with queso. So good but such a pain to make.

I'll fight for my food..lol. Shrimp with butter and garlic. You suck on them then peel them. My husband won't eat them because he hates struggling to peel them.

Why I could never be a vegan or stop eating meat.

Hawaiian BBQ meal you all go so well together.

Best Salvadorian meal ever. Cheese, beans and pork stuffed inside with cabbage on top.

Really well fried wings with mild sauce and lots of ranch.

Deer jerky. If you get lucky and somebody goes to Mexico and brings you some back give me some.

Manapua, you can get them at the Hawaiian BBq place. They are soft and filled with yummy meat inside.

Machaca con huevo. Mmmmm.

Tamales it's hard to find good ones. I taught my self how to make them last year. Not too bad for my first time but man they take forever to make.

Biscuts and gravy. So American so good.

Animal style from IN & OUT be jealous if you live in a place without a IN &OUT near you.

I'm not a huge fan of hot dogs but these yummy ones wrapped in bacon can be bought in downtown LA topped with grilled onions.

What if they start talking to you?

My son lives in a Lego filled room..they are everywhere. See once kids get older legos get smaller and smaller. My son is one of few older kids that has patience for hours to sit there and build things. He knows when ever one tiny piece is missing and he has learned to improvise if he doesn't have one that he needs. He modifies them by painting them. His fav are these...

Forget websters dictionary this is his. He's got so many legos and so many ideas for them. The moment he gets cash he thinks of legos. I'm proud that the last time he got $20 he donated it to his cousin from his dads side who had suffered a tragedy in his family. Other then that he's a saver for legos.

A few weeks ago he made a cape out of paper it was tiny and if you feel it the cape feels like it's cloth. You wouldnt really know it's paper unless he told you. My husband was trippin out that it was paper and at his scissor cutting skills.

The other day I asked him. What would he do if his legos became alive and started fighting with their lightsabers and blasters. Of course he didn't say he would get freaked out but I don't think the thought of them coming to life has ever crossed his imagination mind. LoL. I love my baby and his Lego addiction even though stepping on them sometimes can be a bitch and vacuuming his room with caution isn't always fun. Then we also have my husband who does this like this with the legos as a joke.

In the words of Rise Against "I won't believe the lies that hide the truth!"

I asked what I should blog about next on my FB status yesterday and my bro in law suggested Politics. Cez knows I never talk about politics. Why he suggested it? Who knows. Anyways this was my response to him

" Politics what? LOL yes please tax the rich and everybody stop complaining about Obama everything was a mess before bush left. Yes the president we had who didn't even know how to answer the phone and was a alcoholic."

Talk about embarrassing he ran the country for 8 flippin years and is rich. Pero when it comes to answering the phone that fool vale verge. Wow his last summer as president I remember gas being about $4.45 a gallon... Hmmm I wonder why.

Yes Bush was once a alcoholic I think he even got into a drunk driving accident. Recovering alcoholic? Are they suppose to drink? I later posted this on my FB status..

" Yea everyone was expecting a miracle from Obama in 4 years but bush had 8 yrs to make the mess"

You can't expect miracles in months out of a 8 year fuck up. You just can't.

45,000 people die in this land of the free every year from lack of health care. How is the country suppose to have money when we spend more money on military then any other country. Don't even get me started on those pensions some get. 1.8 billion is spent a week on Iraq alone. People bitch about health care but health care companies spend over 1.4 million a day to defeat health care reform. So good luck. At our rate we will live in a world with out seafood by 2048. And Thank God every time you drink clean water because 6k children die a day from drinking dirty water. Bush didn't cause all this but bad leadership around the world has lead to all this. We have yet to learn to choose our leaders wisely that's for sure.

This just made me laugh.

Poor child who knows how many more he scared.

Making sure he was all around secure was expensive too.

Remember his bff the face shooter??

Is he?

My team for 2012! Not!!!!!!!!!! Creepy hair guy has filed bankruptcy protection how many times??? And the tall one knows more about surviving in the wild then about politics. Oh Geez! I almost forgot they have both had reality shows. You have better luck voting for Snooki & Pauly D.

These 2 all the way for 2012... Hahahahahahaha. They aren't gay bashers and don't have creepy cult followers.
